WHO WE ARE
Integrated Care for the Mind, Body, and Spirit
Heartland Healing Project was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that addiction and mental health conditions are medical challenges, not moral failures, and that every person deserves access to compassionate, clinically excellent care.
We specialize in treating co-occurring disorders, recognizing that substance use and mental health challenges are deeply intertwined. By addressing both simultaneously, our clinical team helps patients build a foundation for lasting recovery, not just temporary stability.
From medical detox and residential care to outpatient programming and aftercare planning, we walk alongside you at every stage of the healing journey.
Compassionate Care
A trauma-informed environment where dignity is always the foundation.
Evidence-Based Treatment
Proven clinical modalities including CBT, DBT, EMDR, and MAT.
Dual Diagnosis
Specialized programs for co-occurring addiction and mental health conditions.
Continuum of Care
From detox through aftercare, we support you at every stage of recovery.
Addiction Treatment Programs
A Clear Path From Dependence to Freedom
Whether you’re taking your first step or returning to treatment, our structured continuum of care meets you where you are and guides you where you need to go.
Medical Detox
Safe, medically supervised withdrawal management for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances. Our clinical team monitors you around the clock to ensure your comfort and safety.
Residential Treatment
Full-immersion residential care in a structured, healing environment. Individual therapy, group sessions, holistic programming, and peer community. All designed to build lasting recovery skills.
Partial Hospitalization (PHP)
Structured daytime treatment (typically 5 to 6 hours per day) while you transition back to community living. PHP bridges the gap between inpatient care and independent life.
Intensive Outpatient (IOP)
Flexible evening and morning sessions that allow you to maintain work, family, and life commitments while receiving the intensive clinical support your recovery demands.
Mental Health Programs
Comprehensive Care for Mental Health Conditions
Untreated mental health conditions are one of the leading drivers of substance use. Our psychiatric and therapeutic team addresses the root causes, not just the symptoms.
Depression & Mood Disorders
Major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and persistent depressive disorder treated through medication management, psychotherapy, and structured support.
Anxiety & Panic Disorders
Generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, and panic disorder addressed with evidence-based CBT, exposure therapy, and targeted pharmacological support.
PTSD & Trauma
Trauma-informed care using EMDR, CPT, and somatic therapies. We help patients process traumatic experiences that often underlie substance use and emotional dysregulation.
Dual Diagnosis / Co-Occurring
Integrated treatment for individuals managing both a substance use disorder and a mental health condition simultaneously. This is our core clinical specialty.
Personality Disorders
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and schema-focused therapy for borderline personality disorder and related conditions that frequently co-occur with addiction.
Family Therapy & Support
Recovery affects the entire family system. Our structured family program rebuilds trust, improves communication, and equips loved ones with tools to support lasting change.
Our Clinical Approach
Treatment That Addresses the Root Cause, Not Just the Symptom
We believe true healing begins when addiction and mental health are treated together, by a unified clinical team, using a personalized plan that honors each patient’s unique history, strengths, and goals. Our approach is integrated, evidence-based, and deeply human.
Comprehensive Assessment
Every patient begins with a thorough bio-psycho-social evaluation conducted by our licensed clinical team. We assess medical history, mental health history, trauma, substance use patterns, and social supports to build an accurate clinical picture.
Individualized Treatment Planning
No two recoveries look the same. Your treatment plan is built around your specific diagnoses, goals, and circumstances. It integrates psychiatric care, individual therapy, group programming, and holistic modalities.
Evidence-Based Therapies
We employ CBT, DBT, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), and 12-Step facilitation. We select the combination most clinically appropriate for each individual.
Aftercare & Relapse Prevention
Discharge is not the end of treatment, it is a transition. We develop a robust aftercare plan with alumni support, community referrals, outpatient step-down options, and a recovery coach where appropriate.
Our Guiding Philosophy
“Addiction is not a character flaw. Mental illness is not a personal weakness. They are medical conditions, and like all medical conditions, they deserve skilled, compassionate treatment.”
Our team includes board-certified addiction psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, certified addiction counselors, and registered nurses. Many of them are in recovery themselves and bring lived experience alongside clinical expertise.

Real Lives. Real Recovery.
These words belong to the patients and families who trusted us with their most vulnerable moments.
I was really nervous going in, but One Path made it a lot easier than I expected. The staff actually listens and doesn’t make you feel like just another patient. I left feeling a lot more in control of my life and actually using what I learned day to day.
Mike R.
Honestly, this place helped me get back on my feet. The people there really care and you can feel that right away. Since leaving, I’ve been handling things way better and feel more like myself again.

One Path was a solid experience for me. Good staff, chill environment, and I learned a lot about myself while I was there. It’s made a big difference in how I deal with life now.

My son stayed at One Path and it gave us a lot of relief. The team kept us updated and treated him with real care. Since coming home, he’s been doing better and managing life in a way we hadn’t seen before.

I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I’m glad I chose One Path. The staff was supportive and down to earth, and I actually took away tools I still use. Life feels a lot more manageable now.
Brian S.
I went in feeling pretty overwhelmed, but One Path helped me slow things down and figure stuff out. The staff was easy to talk to and never made me feel judged. Since leaving, I’ve been handling stress a lot better and actually feel like I have direction again.

This was my first time in a program like this and I didn’t know what to expect. It wasn’t always easy, but it was worth it. I learned a lot and I’m in a much better place now. Day to day life feels more manageable than it used to.
